REVIEW: Flora by Gucci Gorgeous Gardenia Eau de toilette

Hello everyone,

So today I'm going to share with you my most memorable and treasured perfume, that I will probably keep in my collection forever.   Dun...dun...dun...which is my beloved Flora by Gucci in the scent Gorgeous Gardenia!

Lets just take a moment to appreciate how pretty it looks...

This perfume is floral/fruity, delicate, not at all heavy but still lasts all day on me, womanly and just perfect...if you love floral scents then this is the one for you!

This is the 50ml I believe? and was given to me as a gift over a year ago now, and I still love it and think I always will.   The packaging of this perfume is also perfection, a simple yet elegant plain glass bottle looks brilliant on every woman's dressing table, the simple bow and the pink colour of the perfume...perfect!

About the Perfume:

Top notes; red berries, pear
Heart notes; White Gardenia, Frangipani flower
Base notes; Patchouli, brown sugar accord

not at all sweet and girly but feminine and grown up.

A bouquet of three flowers combined to make the perfect eau de toilette.

This perfume is quite expensive at £76 a bottle however it will last you a really long time.

Hello September. Finally!

Hey everyone,

image from: http://sugary-lillily.tumblr.com/

So September has finally rolled around again, the time where everyone including me gets waaaay to excited for the autumn/winter months and Christmas (lets be honest we're all guilty).   I thought I'd share with you what I want to achieve this month...

1. STOP PROCRASTINATING! my mind wanders so much its full of ideas that I cannot handle therefore I just do something insignificant like scroll through twitter or constantly update my Instagram feed, its ridiculous when I can be doing something better with my time!

2. Take time off from the internet...now I'm not saying do not go on the web at all but jheez every ten minutes is definitely not needed and could be classed as an obsession or at least just a really bad habit.   So just take 2 hours out of everyday to start with to read a book or do some college work, something! anything!

3. Read More Books! again links to my last point but seriously read more books, don't just leave them for a relaxing holiday when you have spare time...make spare time.

4. Be more healthy, not just to feel better but for better skin and a better mind...and exercise more!

5. MAKE SPARE TIME, no explanation needed.

My hearts of the week: Top 5 lip products

Hey everyone,

So I thought I'd share with you my top 5 lip products including 3 lipsticks, a lip-gloss and one feeling like a mixture of the two.   These are my top most loved and most worn in my collection, also all are perfect for the summer to autumn transitional weather. (all swatches at the bottom)

My first and fav is the Loreal Paris collection Privee colour riche lipstick in Julianne's nude shade.   This is an amaaaazing pinky/nude and really suits my skin tone, it is a "my lips but better colour" with the perfect amount of sheen.   The lipstick also lasts a really long time so the formula is amazing and feels very luxurious on my lips with minimal re-application needed.   Also the packaging for a drugstore lipstick to me looks very chic with the velvet black and gold case.

Next up we have the Urban Decay Lip Junkie lip-gloss in the shade 'Naked' which I often wear over the top of my previous pick.   The sad part is this is a tester size as I recived it when I bought my Naked 2 palette but now I NEED the full size version.   It claims to 'cool and plump' which I definietly agree on as with the minty sensation you can really tell it is working! It is not at all sticky and horrible, also great to wear on its on.

My most recent purchase and what I've been wearing a lot lately is the Lasting Finish by Kate Moss lipstick in the shade 16 by Rimmel.   Now I think everyone in the blogging world loves these lipsticks as they are affordable and great quality.   But often this shade gets over looked for Kate's deep and true reds, the shade needs its moment.   Its is so pretty and has shades of pink/coral and a slight orange.   I wear this by dabbing it onto my lips as it looks more natural.   Also it reminds me of Kylie Jenner's lips (and who doesn't love Kylizzle).   However if you cannot stand makeup products that smell then the Rimmel lipsticks are not for you, as they all smell very strongly of vanilla.

What I had my eye on for a while was the Topshop Gloss Ink in the shade Cruel, which I gave in and had to purchase on my trip to London in march, and ever since I have been wearing it none stop!   It's a weird one to describe but I'm gonna say its a mixture of a lipstick and a lip-gloss but does dry yet still looks shiny.   The colour is very bold and vampy and perfect for autumn/winter months.   But I do get a lot of lovely comments every time I wear this.   However I would suggest wearing a lip liner with this stage as I do because it tends to bleed on my lips and can look very strange as they get dry.   Again being very affordable as it is Topshop and very good quality.

Last but not least is the perfect red shade for me, being the Avon Extra Lasting lipstick in 'Vintage Pink'.   Now on the swatch that I did it does look quite pink but on my lips looks very red.   Avon has recently changed the packaging so mine is the old one which I'm sorry but I prefer.   It does last a long time but I wouldn't say 'Extra Lasting' just the average amount.   It smells like sweets too therefore I cannot recommend this enough.

Loreal, Urban Decay, Kate Moss, Topshop, Avon

Review: Benefit The POREfessional Shine-Vanishing PRO Powder (Agent Zero Shine) For combination/oily skin

Hey Everyone,

So I have another little review today of Benefit's newest powder edition called The POREfessional shine vanishing/agent zero shine.   I've given this a good testing because I have been using it ever since I purchased it a month or two after it first came out.   I thought I'd give it a go due to all the hype and secrecy around the product.

The cutest little packaging

The top acts as a lid that you pour the loose powder into then swirl your brush around and apply on your face!

As you can see it is a loose powder and contains 7.0g but looks like your getting a lot more product.   The colour once applied to the skin is translucent so don't be alarmed that the immediate colour is a beige/buff.   It is definitely better than my normal everyday powder (Rimmel Stay Matte) which I still use very often due to the £23.50 price tag of this powder being expensive for me as a student.

A loose velvety powder

I can see a difference in my pores once I apply this and my makup tends not to slip off my very oily face throughout the day unlike the Rimmel.   However it isn't amazing and I'm not sure if I would repurchase this product as it claims to 'Mattify' and named 'agent zero shine' and for me it just doesn't work for that purpose unfortunately.   It does keep my facial oils at bay for at least 4/5 hours which isn't great being at college everyday and having the faff to re-apply it at 12 and again at 4.

Claims to mattify but doesn't do much for me

But it would work amazingly with those of you who just have combination skin or just an oily T-zone.   Another thing is the amazing texture it feels so light and soft on my skin, this part I really Love about it!   Also we have to talk about the amazing packaging which I really enjoy using, but benefit are known for that! and the handy brush that comes with it and screws off at the bottom is great quality and so soft not at all itchy.   This means great for travelling which is also a plus point.

This brush is so soft!

My Top 5 Summer Nail Polish Picks!

Hey everyone,

Now I love nail polish, like I have a serious addiction and have waaaay too many! but there's always room for more haha! So I thought I'd share with you my top 5 summer picks...

My Five summer picks
every swatch is at the bottom of this post

My personal fav to start off with is the Leighton Denny I love Juicy, which is the perfect summer shade, not at all neon but just bright enough.   This also looks great with a tan.   Not at all shimmery, the perfect redish-pink that everyone should own! I am a big fan of the Leighton Denny formula's because the are so amazing quick drying, no chipping, sooooo shiny even without a top coat definitely high performance and I recommend.

My next pick works so well over the 'I Love Juicy' shade as well as on its own, and it's Ciate' Pinkaboo.   I would describe this as shimmery holographic pink confetti-ness, so special and rare that it was my holiday toe nails for this summer.   Again I very good staying and only needs 1 coat.   Plus who doesn't love a Ciate' bottle?

My first pastel/nude pick is Essie's Fiji, which also looks amazing with a tan on holiday! However the only problem I have is the formula, now I haven't tried any other Essie shades but the formula of this one is quite bad...but the colour definitely makes up for it! It's like a muted strawberry milkshake colour.   It needs a least 3 coats maybe 4 which is quite bad for a higher drugstore nail polish being quite thick so with the 3 coats can often look clumpy and nasty.   But apart from that amazing!

My 4th pick is another nude however this time an incredible formula being the Nails Inc Sau Paulo Streets which is a collab with InStyle magazine, so if you can get your hands on this special definitely snap it up!   Such a stunning colour that you will always look put together with and effortless.   It's an all seasons shade.   The formula as I said is incredible and lasts for miles longer than 7 days, and with only 1 coat is wow just wow.

I have saved another fav for last, being Barry M Hi Shine in Blueberry.   THE ultimate sky blue polish, which I think I may over wear but heeeey its pretty so its an excuse haha!   Also the price makes me very happy and I can use it and know if it runs out I can easy repurchase it.   But the Barry M has a great colour range including glitters, matte's, shimmers, sand effects, metallic's, hi shine and the norms.   Staying power is awesome very similar formula to the Nails Inc polishes, so you can't go wrong really.

swatches of every colour, all very unique!

Foundation Review: Korres Wild Rose Foundation/Brightening/Long-lasting/SPF 20, 30ml, WRF2

Hey everyone,

I've been testing this foundation for about 2 weeks now so I thought I'd give you a little review.

I bought this as I needed something with a heavier coverage, rather than my everyday BB cream.

Now to to put this foundation down but the smell is quite swimming baths like/chlorine smell which you wouldn't think for a rose named foundation, but don't worry the smell doesn't stay once on your face its just a bit off putting when applying it.   If you are very fair like me be VERY CAREFUL with the shades of these, as I bought the second shade in their line thinking it would be okay for my skin tone as I have recently been on holiday.   But boy was I wrong! as it is even too dark for me with my tan.   Although once blended into my skin with the real techniques expert face brush, it doesn't look to drastic.

This foundation is light to medium coverage which is perfect for summer, but definitely build-able.   The foundation also claims it is long-lasting, I would say it has a lasting power of 6 to about 8 hours, so pretty typical.

The finish of the foundation is quite velvety/dewy but I expected that due to the brightening affects and the high SPF 20 factor.   This however is a big no no for me due to having extremely oily skin I lurvve a matte finish, but I easily achieved this when I powdered.

Can we just talk about the packaging...I love it! I find it very chic and minimalistic with the bronzey/brown bottle and plain white writing.   But the most disappointing factor of all is that it does not come with a pump.

Abbey Hearts Makeup Dupes Of The Day: Summer Edition

Hey everyone,

So today I thought I'd share with you three of my best dupes that I have in my collection right now...

This includes a Peach Melba Look Beauty Cheeky Trio palette which is a dupe for Urban Decay's Naked flush palette (streak).

Also Technic's High Lights Liquid Highlighter being a dupe for Benefit's High beam face Highlighter.

Then last but not least The Body Shop 02 eye-shadow, being a pretty close dupe for MAC's Nylon eye-shadow.

So to start off with The 'Look Beauty cheeky trio palette'.   I picked this up before jetting off to spain in February as I wanted to keep the amount of makeup I was travelling with very light, and this being the perfect handbag size was right up my street! I picked up the shade Peach Melba suggested for medium skin tones, and I have to say all the shades are very pigmented.   The trio includes a Matte contour shade, a rosey gold ish shimmery blush (but not too shimmery) and a beautiful highlighter shade.   Now a matte bronzer is often hard to find in the drugstore but I definitely recommend this.   Now onto the dupe, The urban decay naked flushed palette in the shade 'streak' costing £22 and the look beauty palette costing me £3 massive bargain.

sorry that they are not perfect, I have been using it.
It also gives a fool proof of 'how to' on the back if your new to makeup.
The only problem is I think this product has been discontinued since February, therefore I could only find this one for £12 available from superdrug.

Next up I have the body shop eye-shadow in 02 being a very close dupe for MAC's Nylon shade, or aka the perfect eye-shadow highlighter shade.   The only difference I would say would be that this one is more goldy than MAC's. The mac shade costing between £11-£13 and the body shop one costing £7 another bargain!
not sure why I swatched it twice!

still in the old packaging

also not sure why it doesn't have a name?
However the only similar colour I could find on their website was 101 golden girl which I hope is almost the same as I haven't tried and tested their new eye-shadow range.

Time for the big finale, Techic's High Lights being an amazing dupe for Benefit's High Beam highlighter and looking pretty identical on the skin.   I found the Technic one in BodyCare in the UK only costing me around £2.50 and the Benefit highlighter costing £19.50 so a hugggee bargain!

I use this near enough every single day because I love it soooo much.   I would really recommend this not only for the price tag but for the fact that it really lasts long and the formula is amazing, it also blends really well into the skin, and looks equally amazing on the brow and cheek bones.

July Summer 2014 makeup Wishlist

Hey everyone,

So today I thought I'd share with you my 2014 makeup summer wishlist, because I love reading these!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Perfume:

First up and obviously is Marc Jacobs' new summer scent Daisy Dream.   This scent is describes as light, fruity and floral.with floral and fruity aromas top notes of blackberry, pear and grapefruit and a splash of jasmine, lychee and blue wisteria with base notes of white wood, coconut water and musk.   Which I can definitely vouch for as smelling amazing.   I have lusted for this for 3 weeks ish now ever since spraying it on myself at World Duty Free and instantly regretting not buying it once on the plane...typical Abbey!

The tester card still smells soooooo good!

NXY Butter Glosses:

Next we have the ever-so-famous NYX butter glosses, which look the and are reviewed as A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.   Can you also believe that they now sell NYX products at Next in the UK! nope neither can I.   I saw their stand when I was in Next shopping in the mid summer sale.   Now these have been in the limelight so many times before, and again I really should have purchased a few, as I hear they are very cheap (apparently in the US) and also the formula is great.   I really want to get my hands on the colours; Brulee, Strudel, and Cream Pie...all very similar yet all very unique.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Mega Bronzer:

Now this looks like I'm sponsored by Marc Jacobs, unfortunately I am not haha! I just love his products.   I am hearing a lot along the grapevine of his makeup range and especially this bronzer.   First of all I love the size of this bronzer and you definitely get your money's worth with 1 oz of product, also great for traveling with the huge mirror included.   The colour pay off and pigment is also great but also looks very natural on the skin   The only problem with purchasing this is the fact that it is only stocked in the USA...so if I wanted to buy it I would have to make a cheeky Sephora order which probably won't happen.   Then we have the chic'est packaging EVER!!!

Dior Airflash Spray Foundation:

This has been another product on my wishlist radar lately, with friends raving about it, making me crave it! It looks like a dream to apply, being lightweight yet with enough coverage that you need in the summer months but still very blendable.   It also comes in 8 skin tone colours, so should easily suit everyone.   Who can't love the Dior packaging? the price tag of £33 however is not so pretty, but with the 70ml of product I suppose it is worth it.   You also have the option to spray it directly to your face or onto a foundation brush and then blend it into your skin.

Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette:

This is the perfect everyday eye-shadow palette, because you can obviously never have enough neutral eye-shadow palettes right!   But the shades in here look soooooo amazing and the Too Faced products never dissapoint.   Again perfect for traveling due to the different looks you can achieve from day to evening.   My personal fav shades are; silk teddy, Cashmere bunny, and Erotica.   This palette also comes with a leaflet therefore if you are new to eye-shadows or even new to makeup this would also be perfect for you.   This also reminds me a lot of my Naked 3 palette yet smaller and handbag size.

My heart of the week, Summer Review: L'Occitane Angelica Ultra Matte Fluid (for oily skin)

Hey everyone,

I've been using this product for about 3 weeks now and I am really loving it so far.   I wanted to try this product as soon as Ingrid aka missglamorazzi mentioned it in one of her videos as she too has oily skin.   Now when I say I have oily skin I mean really oily and I've never understood why? Therefore I thought this would be my miracle product, so when I recently went on holiday I picked it up in World Duty Free.

The packaging feels very substantial, looks like glass however I think its just cloudy hard plastic.   I also love this due to the fact that it has a pump, so it distributes all the product you need and has a stopper so you will never waste product.   One pump will easily do your whole face.   The pump also locks which is great for traveling.

Next we have the luxurious scent, now I know some people don't like scented face products but you will love this! It is very fresh with a hint of lemon due to the lemon extracts and angelica.   The consistency is a matte cloudy cream formula.

I have found that it works okay for me, not brilliantly but nothing does on my skin so that was kinda expected, although if you find you just have a very oily T zone it would work amazingly with you.   You can apply this as a moisturizer, a face mask or a primer.   In the mornings I opt for the primer but sometimes I will use it as a leave on overnight face mask if I have had a particularly 'shiny' day. I found that if I apply it around 9am I have to again powder at 12pm.   It is very mosturizing and not at all drying on my skin, so it doesn't stick to any dry areas (if any haha!).

In the bottle you recieve 50ml of product which would easily last you a while,
I think this product is a must for summer and I have definently found my BB cream to last longer.
